Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport (GAU) sits on the north-western edge of Guwahati, about 123 km from Shillong. Because the airport is further out than the city centre, the transfer is a little longer than a city pickup — plan for 3.5 to 4 hours including a short break.
Flights into GAU often land late, so a pre-arranged cab means no scrambling for a fair price at the rank after a long journey. Your driver tracks the flight, meets you at arrivals and heads straight up NH6 into the Khasi Hills.

How the Guwahati Airport pickup works
