Winter Tales is an annual winter festival in Shillong that celebrates the rich creativity, culture, and traditions of Meghalaya. Held during the start of the Christmas season, the festival brings together local artisans, designers, musicians, chefs, entrepreneurs, and storytellers, creating a platform for the state’s homegrown talent. From handcrafted products and traditional crafts to local food, music, art, workshops, and cultural experiences, Winter Tales offers visitors an opportunity to discover the many stories and skills that make Meghalaya unique. With a strong emphasis on sustainability and the ethos of being “homegrown, handpicked and handcrafted,” the festival blends tradition with contemporary creativity while encouraging conscious and community-driven experiences. Set against the charming winter atmosphere of Ward’s Lake, Winter Tales is a celebration of people, culture, creativity, and the spirit of the season.
