The Cherry Blossom Festival is a ticketed two-day festival of music, culture, food and art, held when Shillong’s wild Himalayan cherry trees flower in November. It is on the state’s official tourism calendar.
From 2026 it has a permanent venue at the Highland Ground in Mawkhanu, New Shillong, instead of the Polo Grounds in town.
Tips for visitors
- Tickets are sold online in advance, and Shillong hotels get busy that weekend — book both early.
- The venue is in New Shillong, outside the city centre; arrange your ride back before the evening shows end.
