Cherrapunji and Mawlynnong sit on the same southern ridge of the Khasi Hills but there is no expressway between them — the 83 km drive winds for about 2.5 to 3 hours along the Pynursla road, with valley views the whole way. A private cab is by far the most comfortable way to cover it.
