Cherrapunji (Sohra) and Dawki sit in neighbouring valleys of the East Khasi Hills, about 80 km apart by the hill road via Pynursla — roughly 2.5 to 3 hours. It is one of the most scenic legs in Meghalaya, threading along ridgelines with the plains of Bangladesh opening up to the south.
